Job Simulation
Functional Rehabilitation
Northwest Return to Work (NWRTW), is focused on rehabilitating and reintegrating clients into specific work settings. Combined with our staff’s expert knowledge of job simulation our custom designed facilities allow for realistic, graded performance of job specific tasks that allow our clients to practice progressively more difficult job skills as their physical capacities improve.
Whether helping a roofer with a fear of heights re-acclimate to work on a ladder or helping an plumber with a wrist injury prepare to run pipes in a framed out wall, we are equipped to provide the simulation they need.
Client centered design
We focus on learning from our clients. Each client plays a key role in setting up their own job simulation. Only they can provide detailed descriptions of what they do in their workday. This insight helps our staff create meaningful and creative ways to simulate their job in our clinic.
Every client’s simulation is based on their specific job duties and we make sure we cover as many components of their workday possible. This includes simulating both the easy and the more difficult tasks. To provide realism we alternating tasks during the week add variety to their program.
For each job we create a variety of tasks that are performed in a circuit to best simulate a typical day at work. By partnering with our clients in designing their therapy we maintain a higher level of engagement in the activities. When clients are engaged we know they will leave our program with the tools they need to succeed.
